Open the JMU Library Catalog record for a book, video, or other item that is checked out and click on the Request button, found in the upper left part of the screen. When placing the request you can choose which library the item will be held at for you when it is returned.
A hold will be placed on the checked-out item for you. If the other patron has already had the item for at least four weeks they will receive a notice that the item is due within the next few days. If they have not had it for four weeks yet, the new due date will be four weeks after the original check-out date.
You can view the status of your requests online in your library account. When the item you requested has been returned, you'll receive notification via email.
