The NIH Public Access Policy ensures that the public has access to the published results of NIH-funded research. It ensures that these manuscripts are made publicly available within 12 months after publication.

Electronic copies are deposited in NIH's digital archive, PubMed Central (PMC).

This policy applies to all peer-reviewed manuscripts resulting from research fully (or partially) funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH). The NIH Public Access Policy website has more information about this topic.
