The difference between the catalog and the journal search is that they search for different items.

The JMU Library Catalog contains information about our:

  • Books and ebooks
  • Videos
  • Sound Recordings and Scores
  • Documents (such as government documents)
  • Dissertations
  • Journals

The Journal Search tool allows you to search for and browse the newspapers, journals, and magazines that JMU Libraries has access to. It does not include books or the other types of items in the catalog.
